Online Health and Movement Coaching

For those who can’t work with me in person, Primal Tao Movement offers online health and movement coaching from wherever you are in the world. This allows you to experience many of the same benefits of a face to face session, even if you’re thousands of miles away.

How it works

The first step in this process is a free phone consultation. We’ll take about twenty minutes to get to know each other and discuss your aims. The main thing is to form a connection and make sure it’s a good match. Once I understand your needs, I will compile a customized treatment plan to achieve your goals. Next I’ll present the plan to you and explain all the different proposed methods so that you will know what to expect from the treatment.

Once we have an agreement, the fun starts to happen! We will meet online via Zoom or Google Meet every week or two.

For most people, the sessions will contain elements of both treatment and movement training. The tools of Chinese medicine (including acupuncture, cupping, and Chinese herbal medicine) are combined with individualized functional movement and strength training. Both energy medicine and fitness medicine are called on to enable your body and mind to function at their best. This approach allows the therapeutic effects to last much longer, so each treatment is not just another temporary band aid on your continuing health issues. Each treatment, coupled with customized movement practice between sessions, cumulatively builds momentum for your long term gains.

Connie says:

I have observed that a client’s chronic dysfunctional movement patterns can impair them over time on many levels and inhibit the vital life force we call chi. Once this happens, clients often manifest all sorts of chronic symptoms that seemingly have nothing to do with their bodily alignment or habitual movement patterns. Time and again, I have seen this approach of blending elements of acupuncture with the retraining of natural movement patterns yield much better results than you would get from either method by itself! It's a perfect marriage of acupuncture and movement that can alleviate, and even reverse, many chronic mental and physical conditions that no other single approach can match. And these results tend to be longer lasting as well.

Does this really work?

Here is one success story from a client whose treatment has been almost exclusively via online sessions:

"I have been working with Connie as my holistic health and wellness coach for over a year now. When I started, I was struggling with weakness, severe fatigue, gut issues, headaches, muscle tension and many other complaints that combined to make daily life activities impossible to complete on my own. My body had been accustomed to a sedentary lifestyle as a result of years of chronic pain and dysautonomia. I am 26 years years old and I could barely carry groceries in from the car. I would be completely out of breath just from going up the stairs. I took two-hour naps every day just to get through.

Connie’s unique combination of skills has been exactly what I needed: the ancient wisdom of Chinese medicine, acupuncture, primal tao, core stabilization/strength training, emphasis on balancing strength & flexibility/mobility, fascia/trigger point release, etc. A serious understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection is one of the most important things I look for in a provider, and Connie is no exception. She offers tools to that support mental as well as physical health and considers factors like the contributing role of imbalanced qi.

As a result of my hyper-mobility, I struggled with chronic joint pain and balance issues. Connie’s personalized movement flows have helped me to find core stability and mitigate the pain in a sustainable way.
In the beginning sessions, my exercise tolerance was low, so minimal strain would cause symptoms. I had been stuck in the typical elliptical and weightlifting machine routine at the gym and seeing very little improvement. However, Connie met me where I was at and gently and methodically helped me to incorporate more effective exercise. We started with breath work and trigger point release, then worked up to a light series of primal movements, and eventually to strength training. If you told me one year ago I would be doing 100 kettlebell swings with 26 kilo bells like it was no big deal, I would have thought you were crazy!

Connie’s holistic approach has transformed my life in a profound and irrevocable way.
Since starting training/wellness coaching, I been able to take on the high demands of puppy ownership and training (and actually keep up with him)!

For the last two months I have held down a very physically demanding, fast-paced restaurant job where I am working hours I haven’t been able to work since I first became debilitated with illness back in 2020. My co-workers ask me to lift the heavy boxes of produce for them because they say I am the “strong” one!
In addition, I am able to do volunteer work at a functional neurology center where I get to help clients going through similar struggles rehabilitate their nervous systems and take back their health. This work has been extremely rewarding and allows me to share my story with others, something that wouldn’t have been possible in the state I was in only one year ago

Connie’s extensive training, insatiable curiosity, and determination to discover the best natural ways to help her clients have made her a wealth of wisdom and an incredible resource that I feel so lucky to have in my court on this journey. I am and will always be deeply grateful for the way Connie has championed my healing through the highs and lows, believed in me when I doubted my own capacity and, more than anything, empowered me to be my own best healer.
